Hon. Fabakary Tombong Jatta is a senior Gambian politician and the current Speaker of the National Assembly of The Gambia, a position he has held since April 2022.
He has had a distinguished parliamentary career spanning over two decades. He previously served as Majority Leader of the National Assembly from 2007 to 2017, where he played a key role in legislative coordination and government business in Parliament. Prior to becoming Speaker, he was also a long-standing Member of the National Assembly for Serekunda East (1997–2017), where he represented his constituency for multiple terms and was actively involved in parliamentary proceedings, including regional parliamentary bodies such as ECOWAS and the Pan-African Parliament.
