What Must Change: Toward an Africa-Led E2A Ecosystem — Transformation, Inclusion, and Scaling
Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o is the Governor of Kisumu County since 2017, a former Senator, and Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement. An accomplished academic, he was the first Kenyan to earn a First Class Honors degree in Political Science at the University of East Africa.
He played a major role in Kenya’s development planning, leading initiatives such as the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper and contributing to Vision 2030. As Minister for Medical Services, he spearheaded key health sector reforms, including strengthening KEMSA and transforming NHIF toward universal healthcare.
As a Member of Parliament, he supported education development and scholarships for disadvantaged students. His leadership continues to position Kisumu as a city with strong growth potential.
