What is the E2A Conference All About?

Welcome

E2A 2026

The 9th Evidence to Action Conference and Exhibition made history in Accra, Ghana. Hosted at the ISSER Auditorium, University of Ghana, from 22nd to 26th June 2026, the conference brought together heads of government, researchers, policymakers, and development practitioners from across Africa and beyond — united by one conviction: Africa's evidence ecosystem must be reimagined from the ground up.Under the leadership of Dr. David S. Ameyaw, President & CEO of International Center for Evaluation and Development (ICED), the conference challenged decades of externally defined agendas. It documented African-led practices, deepened cross-context learning, and sparked systems-level conversations that will shape policymaking across the continent for years to come.Five days. Hundreds of delegates. One mandate to place Africa at the centre of its own evidence future.

Introduction

Concept Note

Across Africa, the demand for evidence to inform policies and decisions grew rapidly. Yet the journey from knowledge to action remained fragmented, often driven by external agendas that overlooked African priorities, innovations, and lived experiences. While African governments, institutions, and communities developed rich practices for embedding evidence into decision-making, these successes remained insufficiently documented, shared, and scaled.
