She founded and directs Giving Evidence, which encourages and enables effective charitable giving based on sound evidence. That often involves producing evidence in order to influence policy, and/or funding that influencing work.

recognised expert in philanthropy, Caroline is a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University, and for three years wrote the ‘how to give it’ column in the Financial Times, and has advised many donors over many years. Recently cited by Spears Magazine as a “top recommended philanthropy advisor“, Caroline often speaks at conferences and in the press, and is / has served on boards of various organisations related to producing and using high quality evidence, such as The Cochrane Collaboration (specifically Evidence Aid ), The Life You Can Save founded by ethicist Peter Singer, the (amazing) Flemish Red Cross, and ID Insight. She has worked with J-PAL at MIT and with its sister organisation Innovations for Poverty Action.
