In 2024, the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED) strengthened its role in advancing evidence-based development across Africa. Key achievements included the development of three major Evidence and Gap Maps (EGMs) on infrastructure, climate adaptation, and gender-responsive policies-supported by tools like policy briefs, theories of change, and network analyses.
Through the USAID’s Feed the Future ALL-IN Initiative, ICED supported 12 African-led research projects across six countries and empowered over 200 researchers through the ALL-IN Research Network. The 2024 convening in Accra and participation in key global forums amplified this impact.
In East Africa, ICED launched USAID’s Feed the Future horticulture innovation projects in Uganda and Kenya, and led regional coordination under the Legume Systems Innovation Lab.
In Somalia, ICED developed a national M&E framework and designed evaluation curriculum tailored to local needs. It also advanced gender and governance work with decision-making tools across East and West Africa.
The flagship E2A 2024 Conference convened 585 participants from 25 countries-cementing ICED’s leadership in evidence-to-action transformation.
