Ralph Sam is a Data Scientist at the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED), with over a decade of experience in survey design and implementation, data management, quantitative analysis, and research and evaluation. He holds an MPhil in Agricultural Administration and a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Ghana.
Ralph has extensive experience leading large-scale research and impact evaluation projects, including managing field operations, designing CAPI/CATI systems, ensuring data quality, and conducting advanced quantitative analysis. He has worked with leading international research and development partners, including USAID, Oxford University, UNICEF, the World Bank, and the Mastercard Foundation, on studies spanning agriculture, education, livelihoods, social protection, and socioeconomic development across West Africa.
His research interests include agricultural economics, labour productivity, household welfare, socioeconomic development, and the application of data-driven methods to inform policy and development practice. He also contributes to capacity building through teaching and mentorship in research methods, data analytics, survey methodology, and computer-assisted data collection systems.
