Pamela Kaburu is a seasoned Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) professional with over 13 years of experience, primarily with donor-funded programs. For the past decade, she has led the design and implementation of MEL frameworks, systems, and plans, acting as a key liaison with USAID MEL teams and ensuring successful reporting, evaluations, and data quality assessments.
Her experience spans across multiple sectors such as agriculture, peace building, cooperatives, food security, youth, gender and livelihoods. Pamela has experience setting monitoring, evaluation and learning strategies and overseeing their implementation for a holistic approach to programming. She is results oriented and passionate about telling impact stories.
Beyond her MERL expertise, Pamela is deeply passionate about youth and women inclusion in development as vital drivers of sustainable development. She has actively contributed to international discussions and publications on the subject. Her career in youth programming includes impactful work on the USAID Yes Youth Can! Project, the Coca-Cola Africa Foundation's Youth Empowered for Success (YES!) program and USAID Cooperative Development Program, creating employment opportunities for Youth and Women through Worker Cooperative Business Model.
Pamela graduated from Moi University with a First-Class Honors in Social Sciences. Additionally, she has done short courses in monitoring and evaluation, holds a certificate in program management for development professionals and executive certificate in public policy making process.
Prior to joining ICED, Pamela worked with Global Communities as the MEL Lead for the cooperative development project implemented in Kenya and Guatemala. Here, she led the design and implementation of MEL frameworks and played a key role in the end to end project cycle.
