John Wachira serves as the Finance Director at the International Centre for Enterprise Development (ICED). He provides leadership in financial management, governance, and organizational sustainability. In his position, he oversees financial planning, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. He makes sure ICED’s resources are used effectively to support its mission and long-term goals.
With over 18 years of experience in financial management, grant oversight, and operations, John has led complex, multimillion-dollar programs across Africa’s health, conservation, and development sectors. He has collaborated with major international donors such as USAID, the European Union, the Global Fund, and other U.S. Federal agencies, maintaining strict standards for finances and reporting.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce, John combines technical expertise with strategic vision. He has implemented financial reforms, upgraded ERP and reporting systems, and strengthened internal controls to improve efficiency and accountability.
