On November 3rd, 2025, Dr. David Sarfo Ameyaw, President and CEO of the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED), led a delegation for a strategic partnership meeting with senior officials from the State Department for Economic Planning under Kenya’s Ministry of National Treasury and Economic Planning, led by Dr. Jared Ichwara, Director General of the Department.
The meeting explored opportunities for continued collaboration to strengthen the State Department’s capacity to leverage research, data, and evidence for policy formulation and implementation.
Over the years, ICED has supported the Ministry through technical trainings, evaluations, and evidence-generation initiatives aimed at building institutional capacity and promoting a culture of learning within government.
The two teams also discussed how renewed collaboration could further contribute to the realization of Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) through evidence-informed policy and planning.
“At ICED, we believe that partnerships between government and research institutions are essential for translating data and evidence into meaningful policy action. We look forward to working with the State Department to deepen Kenya’s culture of evidence-driven planning and implementation.”
