As Finance, Grants and Operations Specialist, Daniel Ogari handles various aspects of grant management, including conducting regular financial analyses to assess projects’ financial performance and identify areas of improvement or potential risks. He also coordinates with external auditors for provision of required financial documents and leads organizational operations from ICED’s headquarters in Kenya.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Commerce, with a specialization in Operations Management, from University of Nairobi, Kenya. His work experience includes consulting for PwC Kenya, along with stints in the Kenyan government and in private sectors where his roles were data-driven, research-based and involving evaluations, aligning him with ICED’s mission and vision.

He is inspired by achievement and success stories, especially by others who have overcome challenges and achieved great deeds. His work in the non-profit sector is based on two strong motivations: social impact, and advocacy and change. He is driven by a strong desire to make a positive impact on society. Working with ICED allows him to contribute to meaningful causes, including promoting informed decision-making by policy makers, poverty eradication through research and adoption of innovative farming practices, and more, which is deeply fulfilling. He also enjoys seeing the opportunities that working with ICED provides in driving policy change and create sustainable solutions to development issues.

In his leisure time, Daniel can be found on the football pitch or playing table tennis, as well as giving back to the community by mentoring youth on drugs and substance abuse.
