The workshop is aimed to promote the goal of the GFSS Research Strategy, which is to “build the capacity of country partners to identify and address their own research need and to take new technologies and practices to scale.”. It also promotes the objectives of the FtF ALL-IN Research Grant which seek to support Africa researchers to take the lead in defining priorities, drawing in US university research partners as needed to supplement their own skills, talents, and ideas. The ALL-IN Model seeks to help in closing the gap between evidence and policy by focusing on a locally determined research agenda and utilizing the local knowledge and connections.
