ICED seeks to cultivate leadership in Africa by conceptualizing and practicing research monitoring and evaluation that can translate into innovations and advances in both theory and practice in support of development. ICED is a “think-and-do-tank” that is rooted in practical realities and experiences across cultures and contexts.
ICED fills an important niche in the Africa evidence generation, synthesis and utilization architecture. Its operating headquarters is in Nairobi, Kenya, representing Eastern and Southern Africa; and a regional office in Accra, Ghana, representing West Africa. ICED has a range of emerging international alliances and partnerships, and it is the first international organization based in Africa and led by Africans that focuses explicitly on research and innovation in monitoring and evaluation for development.
We are seeking a knowledgeable HR consultant to develop and implement ICED HR strategies for our new strategy. As an HR consultant, you will be required to evaluate and identify human capital inefficiencies, recommend solutions, develop HR strategies and models, and develop HR policies, protocols, and best practices.
To ensure success as an HR consultant, you should be analytically minded and have excellent interpersonal skills. A skilled HR consultant should be able to quickly identify workforce issues and recommend effective solutions.
HR Consultant Responsibilities:
Meeting with the President, Chief of Finance and Operations and other management teams to define the ICED HR issues, goals, and requirements.
Conducting research to identify workforce issues or inefficiencies.
Developing HR strategies and company-specific models.
Recommending solutions and providing advice on HR policies, procedures, and tools.
Develop the polices, procedures, tools and strategies
Overseeing the implementation and integration of new policies, procedures, tools, and strategies.
Monitoring and reviewing human capital analytics to evaluate the efficacy of new policies.
Generating analytic reports and presentations for feedback to management.
Ensuring that the operations and activities of the workforce are efficient and in the best interest of the company goals.
Develop guidelines and procedures to assist with the recruitment and training of new employees.
Keeping ICED abreast of industry trends, tools, practices, and advancements in technology.
HR Consultant Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Masters ‘s degree in human resources, business administration, or similar.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR consultant or similar.
PHR or SPHR certification is advantageous.
Excellent computer skills and experience with ATS, Payroll, and HR management software.
Full understanding of HR legislation, policies, and procedures.
Excellent understanding of HR evaluation metrics and methods.
Good knowledge of recruitment practices and techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional analytic and problem-solving abilities.
The ability to protect the interests of company employees.
